Filling substrate for municipal or industrial waste water percolator beds
How to apply:
SPHERIC and CIRCULAR are bulk filling substrates for medium/high-load percolators and tanks, intended for the treatment of biodegradable domestic and/or industrial sewage and for air treatment systems. The industrial effluents most commonly purified by biofiltration are those from dairy industries, wineries, distilleries, agro-food industries, slaughterhouses, breweries, pig, poultry, cattle and similar.
Spheric advantages:
With SPHERIC, modern medium/high-load percolators are realised economically. These are the upgraded version of the classic percolators (with gravel bed) that were the first viable sewage treatment system for domestic sewage. By using SPHERIC, you have two orders of magnitude of advantages:
- The first is due to the purification system (percolation), which allows substantial energy savings compared to activated sludge; it also has other advantages such as easy running, resistance to overloading, and a small footprint.
- The other stems from the commitment of SPHERIC, who with his skills of:
- High specific surface area and high vacuum index, it achieves good purification efficiencies even for high applied organic loads;
- Lightness, which allows for simpler, and less expensive, civil works (percolators) than traditional gravel fills or similar.
Circular advantages:
-
CIRCULAR represents a decisive improvement when compared to classic bulk filling:
- The specific surface area: increased dramatically, at least doubled (+100% CA).
- Permeability: expressed as a vacuum index, is also significantly improved (+70% CA.).
- The operating weight: has drastically decreased (-80%CA.) to very low values, where the weight of the substrate filling represents CA. 15/20% of that of the biomass adhering to it.
- CIRCULAR allows the application of high specific organic loads. Up to 2/5 kg BOD5 applied/mc of fill/day against a maximum of CA. 0.6 kg/mc day applicable to (traditional) percolators this is also due to the high surface hydraulic loads applicable before the stripping (detachment) of the biological film occurs.
