A new document was recently published in the Official Journal, introducing important guidelines for environmental sustainability in road infrastructure.
These provisions, approved by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, define the Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) for the design and execution of works on roads, squares, pavements and car parks.
NEW PROVISIONS:
The document aims to reduce the environmental impact of road infrastructure, both in the construction phase and during its use.
The new regulations require the adoption of techniques to:
- dust containment
- smoke management
- reduction of odour emissions
Contractors must use asphalt production plants suitable for processing reclaimed materials, equipped with advanced systems for managing fumes, dust and odour emissions.
In addition, each participant in the tenders will be required to submit a declaration of commitment to refuelling at facilities that
comply with these requirements.
